It’s hard to call what I do publishing since the word implies I have an audience and a platform. For all I know I’m writing into the void. That’s fine with me though because that isn’t the point. I hope some people do connect with my story but regardless, publishing helps me validate my ideas and stay accountable.

Accountability: continuing to write these articles is contingent on me having valuable things to say which is contingent on me taking actual steps towards my goal of staring a business (a nice little syllogism). The self inflicted deadline of publishing every Monday, puts positive pressure on me to make progress on this project.

Idea validation: writing my thoughts and ideas down helps me distill and clarify them. This isn’t just polish and presentation, it’s an important step in idea validation. As long as my ideas are up in my head, they’re all amazing but if I can’t present them in a compelling way, then they are bad ideas.

In each chapter I give one concrete step that I’ve taken so you can follow along.

Concrete Step #8: Start a blog

It doesn’t have to be a blog but make a goal to publish one piece of content on one platform every week. Choose something that you could do and you would do. For example, I really want to start publishing YouTube videos, but that isn’t something that would be easy for me to start today.

DISCLAIMER:

I've never done this before and I'm learning as I go. Be cautious because I will make mistakes, but also be inspired because if I can start a business, so can you.
