There is something to be said for rash over-confidence. Steven Bartlett often talks about how you can bend the world if you believe that you can. Sounds a bit cheesy and it is but I think it’s largely true.
My friend Adam is a perfect example of this. He moved to Canada from Ireland with nothing, he’s 26, no degree, started his career late, got married young, has two kids, single income family, but he has a higher net worth than 90% of guys his age!
Unless there’s some sketchy dealings on the side he hasn’t told me about, he’s achieved this simply by following the money and outworking everyone around him.
The world is bendable.
I haven’t yet achieved this level of work ethic but I have experienced similar world-malleability. The job I have right now is ideal and I got it by sending a cold email to someone who wasn’t hiring to discuss one of my entrepreneurial ideas. Turns out they were already working on the thing I wanted to build and had an open seat on the team.
I was qualified and I’m an asset to their team but realistically the only reason I got the job because of:
God’s providence
I was already thinking outside the box
In each chapter I give one concrete step that I’ve taken so you can follow along.
Concrete Step #10: Ask for what you want
Is there something that you’ve been wanting for a long time? A relationship, a promotion, an opportunity, better mental or physical care. You don’t just have to take what you’re given. Ask for one thing that you want.
DISCLAIMER:
I've never done this before and I'm learning as I go. Be cautious because I will make mistakes, but also be inspired because if I can start a business, so can you.
